Denver public safety departments are divided on whether or not drones should be used, the Denver Post reported.
The Denver Police Department has shelved its drone program after purchasing a drone that would have been used to photograph crime scenes. Its spokesperson told the Post that if it moves forward with a drone program, it would get community input.
The Fire Department, however, is in the process of purchasing a drone and accessories to assist with fires, hazardous material spills, and rescues.
The use of drones by public agencies has been growing throughout the country.
