The City of Portland, Ore., is hiring a fleet manager to lead its CityFleet Division. The fleet manager is responsible for planning, managing, and directing personnel and resources for the acquisition and maintenance of vehicles and equipment.

The CityFleet encompasses 77 employees and owns more than 3,500 vehicles and pieces of equipment throughout six garages.

Applicants must have experience managing a large and varied fleet, knowledge of and experience with budget development, experience managing a staff within a labor union environment, and experience related to sustainability and environmental initiatives, among other requirements.

The position is open until July 16, and the city expects to select its final candidate by late August.

Former Fleet Manager John Hunt left in January.
