Terex Utilities debuted the Optima series of aerial devices used for construction and maintenance of distribution lines. The Optima TC, TCX, HR, and HRX series feature enhancements to Hi-Ranger aerial devices.

The Optima TCX and HRX features high strength steel and a lower overall weight, providing up to 1,000 lbs. greater vehicle payload capacity.

A redesigned hydraulic circuit and hydraulic cylinders offers improved boom speeds and responsiveness.

The Optima series also features expanded working range and improved ground access.

Optima TC and HR models have extended their side reach by 3 feet. An indicator light alerts the operator when the boom moves into the extended reach area of the working range. The optional Load Alert system allows operators to monitor the truck’s jib and basket capacity.

All Optima aerial devices now have a 700-lb. platform capacity as standard. Optima TCX and HRX have an optional 800-lb. capacity platform. An optional two single man 24-by-30-inch platform is available with capacity of 700 lbs. (350 lbs. for each bucket).

The leveling chain has extended life of 10 years before replacement. At five years, the inspection does not require the chain to be removed. A new pedestal design on all Optima models provides technicians easier access to torque lower rotation bearing bolts, which are now accessible on the outside of the pedestal. Plus all hydraulic fittings located above the boom rotation are sealed with O-rings, reducing leaks. Finally, all Optima aerial devices feature powder-coated finishes.
