Hyundai Construction Equipment Americas’ R30Z-9AK is a three-ton-class compact excavator that features a zero-tail swing design for optimum maneuverability in confined work spaces. It is part of the 9A series of Tier 4 Final-compliant compact excavators.

The excavator is powered by a Kubota engine delivering 23.2 hp. Its maximum digging depth is 8 feet, 2 inches, and its maximum digging reach is 15 feet, 3 inches. Bucket breakout force is 4,520 lb.-ft. Configured with a canopy, the R30Z-9AK has an operating weight of 6,380 lbs. When specified with an optional cab, the machine’s operating weight is 6,625 lbs. Standard bucket capacity is 0.10 cubic yards.

Each model includes boom swing capability, enabling the operator to offset the boom 75 degrees to the left and 50 degrees to the right, which allows for close work alongside foundations and other structures, especially in congested areas.

Standard features include thumb brackets, large dozer blades, hydraulic quick-couplers for attachments, and hydraulics-ready auxiliary piping for versatility.

The ergonomically designed cab reduces noise and increases comfort and visibility. A tilting left-side console makes it easier for the operator to enter and exit the cab, and the left and right control levers are located for convenient access. The optional lever-pattern-change valve, positioned for easy access, allows joystick control to be changed from SAE to ISO pattern, depending on operator preference. Button selections are provided for auto idle mode, max power mode, and travel speed.

Enhanced reliability features on the 9A series compact excavators include bushings designed for long-life lube intervals, wear-resistant and noise-reducing polymer shims, and integrated preheating systems that extend service intervals and reduce machine downtime. Serviceability enhancements include wide-opening engine hoods, centralized grease fittings, and easy-change plastic air cleaners.
