The updated Genie GTH-844 now features a 74-hp, Tier 4 Final engine option, as well as a high-torque version of the Deutz turbocharged 3.6L engine that is optimized for the new horsepower performance. These features combine to provide similar torque as higher horsepower engine packages with lessened maintenance needs, according to the company.

In addition to the engine upgrade, the GTH-844 also received upgrades to its axles with the addition of standard Dana axles. The axles have two gear ratios designed to match the performance of the engine size. Other upgrades include standard low-profile tires, a Quick-Attach system, fenders (set of 4), and a lift shackle at boom tip. A storage unit was added to the front to the vehicle to prevent rigging equipment from scratching the machine.

A 99-hp Tier 4 Final Deutz 3.6L diesel engine is still offered for the GTH-844, which allows customers an engine of choice that best fits their fleet's needs.
