In an effort to boost security at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in California, local law enforcement has increased its patrol with drones.

The Indio Police Department told the Los Angeles Times it is working with an outside company experienced in flying drones to increase its patrol at the music festival, which is less costly than deploying a police helicopter.

The festival promoter, Goldenvoice, is covering the cost of the added drones. In addition, police, fire, and medical responders are posted around the event in case of an emergency.
