The City of Manhattan, Kan., needs to construct a new $10-12 million facility to house and centralize several departments, including fleet, and fleet ownership needs to be centralized to be more cost-effective, the consulting firm BBN Architects recommended.
According to The Mercury, the current fleet shop has physical limitations that prevent employees from properly lifting equipment. The proposed new site would have a fuel island, wash bay area, and increased storage.
