The City of Tampa, Fla., is suing a routing software company for failing to deliver on its promise to minimize fuel costs and improve productivity for the city’s solid waste fleet.
According to Tampa Bay Business Journal, the city signed a $1.2 million contract with RouteMatch Software in 2013 for what it believed was an off-the-shelf software. Instead, several modifications were needed, leading to additional time and expense. The city is seeking more than $1 million to cover payments made to the company and lost employee time, plus attorney fees and interest.
