It may not be typical to find a lot of excitement surrounding a public fleet event, but Government Fleet Expo & Conference, now entering its eighth year, has recently debunked that misconception.

Trade Show Executive magazine honors the 50 fastest-growing shows, and GFX 2014 earned a spot as one of Fastest 50 in the attendance growth category.

“I was excited to learn that GFX earned a place on this list. We’ve seen exponential growth in the last three years, and this only solidifies GFX as the choice for public fleet professionals.” said Eric Bearly, publisher of Government Fleet, the media sponsor of the event.

Additionally, in a recent survey of magazine subscribers, 78% of respondents listed GFX as the most valuable event in helping them manage their fleets, beating out 18% for NAFA I&E and 4% for the American Public Works Association’s event.

Providing a Valuable Experience

GFX 2015 heads to Denver this June, welcoming its third record-breaking attendance figure in terms of public fleet professionals.

More than 10 hours of fleet-specific training will be offered, covering topics such as:  How to Tell Your Fleet’s Story Using Data; Navigating the Technology: The Process and Politics of Anti-Idling; Modeling the Long-Term Effects of Your Budget Decisions; 150 Years of Experience: A Q&A with Those Who Have Seen It All; How to Buy the Right Vehicle; and Redesigning Your Fleet: What Would an Industry Expert Do?

The exhibit hall will feature the latest vehicles and technology, allowing for plenty of sourcing and networking with fellow attendees.

Government Fleet magazine will also recognize award winners at The Honors Celebration. Staff will name the 2015 Public Sector Fleet Manager of the Year recipient, honor the Leading Fleets and a new group of Public Fleet Hall of Fame inductees, and announce the Legendary Lifetime Achievement Award recipient.

GFX will take place June 8-11, 2015 at the Colorado Convention Center, in Denver. Visit www.GovFleetExpo.com for more information.

We’re on the Road Again

In 2014, prior to GFX, a spin-off event called the GFX Road Show stormed Southern California and added a new dimension to the expo experience. A Government Fleet magazine team and a video crew visited six fleet facilities surrounding San Diego, interviewed fleet management staff and filmed them in action. The fleet facility facts, photos, and interviews were then displayed at GFX San Diego, and an accompanying video was played at the awards session.

The visits gave an inside look into the inner workings of the facilities and provided fleet professionals with a taste of how things operate in this corner of the country. View the video below:

“It was fun to talk to the people who keep the vehicles up and running for each city. Seeing the capabilities and breadth of work that is tackled on a daily basis was inspiring and informative,” said Thi Dao, executive editor, Government Fleet.

The GFX Road Show Denver took place in April, and the visits will be documented for GFX 2015 in June.
