The City of New Franklin, Ohio, is taking over plowing county and state roads and will purchase two Mack snow plow vehicles and hire two seasonal truck drivers, The Suburbanite reported.

City officials expect this move will save money. This new program replaces a contract the city had with the county to plow these roads, and a renewed contract would have cost between $150,000 and $239,000 annually. In comparison, the two trucks cost $317,000 to purchase.
