California fleet associations and industry groups in Northern California have banded together to host the 2017 Collaborative Municipal Equipment Fleet Academy. The training event takes place June 20-21 at American River College in Mather, Calif.

The goal of organizers is to provide training on special municipal equipment that challenges even master-level technicians at dealerships. By collaborating with associations and surrounding public agencies, organizers hope to provide specialized municipal equipment training with a focus on sustainability and greening efforts.

Training includes topics such as: sewer trucks, refuse trucks, street sweepers, bucket trucks, Allison transmissions, multi-plexing, hydraulics, and welding.

The event is a collaboration of the Municipal Equipment Maintenance Association (MEMA), the Public Equipment Managers Association (PEMA), the Sacramento Clean Cities Coalition, and American River College (ARC).
