A new study from Onvia found that state, local, and education procurement was up for the first quarter of 2017, with a 4.9% growth overall in bids and requests for proposals (RFPs). This growth was partially supported by $200 billion in project funding approved by voters last November.

The study found that transportation infrastructure, including vehicles, saw the most investment growth in 2017 so far, up 13% from last quarter. The report also notes growth broken down by industry and state.

When preparing this report, Onvia used government contracting data drawn from its B2G Intelligence System, including awards and future spending plans from tens of thousands of state and local government agencies.
