The City of Binghamton (N.Y.) has fired two of its top public works officials after the city's Winter Storm Stella response efforts drew criticism, reports the Press & Sun Bulletin

About 32 inches of snow hit the municipality, and many streets were not plowed for days, requiring Binghamton schools to stay closed longer than others in the region. The city plans to review its vehicles, equipment, staff, emergency protocols, and training programs and work with the New York Department of Transportation to retrain plow drivers.
