Nissan has increased the price of its base model 2017 NV cargo van by $1,190, and begun selling the V-6 model at dealers, Nissan has announced.

For 2017, Nissan is updating its V-8-powered NV, which will now be powered by the 5.6L Endurance gasoline engine that debuted with the Titan XD. The engine is also available with the half-ton Titan.

When added to the NV, the engine produces 375 hp and 387 lb.-ft. of torque. It replaces a V-8 that made 317 hp. The engine is mated to a new heavy-duty 7-speed automatic transmission that replaces a 5-speed transmission. Nissan expects an 8% increase in fuel economy from the new V-8 NV. The V-8 NV will go on sale in February.

Nissan has begun selling the carryover 4.0L V-6-powered NV that makes 261 hp and 281 lb.-ft. The V-6 powers the NV 1500 and NV 2500 cargo vans. The NV 2500 offers an optional V-6, while the NV 3500 offers the V-8 as standard equipment.

Nissan offers 20 configurations of its NV cargo van and five configurations of its NV passenger van. The three cargo models are available in S, SV, and SL trims with a standard or high roof.

The base model NV 1500 S with the V-6 and standard room retails for $28,925. The base model high roof NV 2500 S with a V-6 retails for $32,075. Adding the comparably equipped V-8 to an NV 2500 S with either roof would add $1,600.

The base model NV 3500 S passenger van powered by the V-6 retails for $34,995. The V-8 adds $1,600.
