The Bergen County (N.J.) Board of Chosen Freeholders approved a shared services contract with the Borough of North Arlington for the rental and usage of a county-owned street sweeper.

This contract is part of the county's efforts to offer services for its 70 municipalities, increase efficiency, and save taxpayer money, reports the Daily Voice. Earlier this year, the board passed a resolution offering North Arlington to use the county's garage for fleet maintenance.

Freeholder Chairman Steve Tanelli told the Daily Voice that the county holds street sweeper contracts with eight towns and vehicle maintenance contracts with 11 municipalities and school boards, including the Township of Washington.
