The Polk County, Fla., Sheriff’s Office has apprehended an inmate who escaped while at his assigned work location at the county vehicle maintenance facility. Joseph Flanagin is facing escape and grand theft auto charges, WFLA reported.
Flanagin’s good behavior allowed him to leave the jail for supervised work at the fleet facility. While working, he stole a 2004 Ford pickup marked with county decals and escaped, deputies said. He was apprehended on Nov. 18, less than a day after his escape.
