The City of Winston-Salem, N.C., lifted its gasoline use restrictions for fleet vehicles today after it received gasoline supplies on Wednesday, the Winston-Salem Journal reported. The leak in Colonial Pipeline's main line led to gasoline shortages and rising fuel prices across the Southeast.

On Sept. 19, the city manager ordered all non-emergency and non-sanitation vehicles to be parked beginning at noon. The city manager stressed that police and fire protection, as well as garbage collection and refuse services, were not curtailed, and transit buses continued to run.

Colonial announced it had restarted the pipeline on Sept. 21 and expects it to take several days for the fuel delivery supply chain to return to normal.
