The 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV will offer 238 miles of driving range and will go on sale later this year, General Motors has announced.

The Bolt EV is on track to arrive with a retail price just below $37,500 before the federal tax credit of $7,500, which would put the cost under $30,000.

The Bolt EV will offer significantly more range that most EVs available from manufacturers not named Tesla Motors. The 2017 BMW i3 with the 94-amp battery offers 114 miles of range, while the 2016 Nissan Leaf offers 107 miles of range.
