Sales of vehicles to government agencies from five manufacturers increased 37% to 29,999 in June with trucks outnumbering passenger cars almost five to one, according to Automotive Fleet data.
Sales of trucks, vans, and SUVs increased 49.2% to 24,731, while sales of cars fell 1% to 5,268.
For the first half of 2016, government fleet sales increased 37.9% to 157,374 units. Sales of truck-based vehicles increased 40.9% to 127,388 units, while sales of cars increased 26.4% to 29,986.
