The City of Columbus, Ohio, hosted a training session for more than 60 technicians across the state on April 28. The training session focused on Vac Con sewer cleaning machines.

The Ohio Chapter of the Municipal Equipment Maintenance Association (MEMA) and Best Equipment sponsored the collaborative training event to educate user groups on new technologies. The day-long event included more than 17 public entities, with most being members of MEMA-OH.

“Working together we are able to better train our work force, creating learning opportunities for our technicians in highly specialized pieces of heavy duty equipment,” said Kelly Reagan, fleet administrator for the City of Columbus and chapter chairman. “MEMA remains committed in bringing the best possible training opportunities to our membership. We thank Best Equipment for being such a great partner in our quest for knowledge.”

The training seminar included information about Vac Con safety; operation; electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and water system troubleshooting; and maintenance.
