City of St. Louis (Mo.) Treasurer Tishaura Jones will continue using her take-home vehicle despite media reports questioning her perk as a city worker with a $96,000-per-year salary.

Jones told KTVI's taxpayer watchdog Elliot Davis that she would continue to use the GMC Acadia that's assigned to her through her office's Parking Division. Jones has provided different numbers for the cost of the vehicle to KTVI and the Post-Dispatch. She first told KTVI it cost $42,536, then said it cost $28,576. She later sent an e-mail to the Post-Dispatch saying it cost $19,576 with a trade-in.

City leaders have been under scrutiny for using take-home cars in the past year. Recorder Sharon Q. Carpenter's vehicle was involved in two accidents, including one where her husband was behind the wheel.
