Labette County (Kan.) commissioners approved the purchase of six pickups for the sheriff's department with various funding including jail housing proceeds, reports the Parsons Sun.

The county will add the 2016 Ram 1500 pickups for $157,172 or $26,193 per truck with options such as a spray-in bedliner, back-up camera, and a hitch.

Funding will be split between the sheriff and public works department. The jail funds will finance a third of the sheriff's half with the remainder financed through local banks.
