The Florida Department of Management Services has notified 11 law enforcement agencies that tactical vehicles given to them as military surplus have been recalled by the U.S. Department of Defense, reports the Daily Commercial.

The Leesburg Police Department and sheriff's offices in Seminole, Osceola, Volusia, and Polk counties must return the vehicles following President Obama's order that recalled 126 tracked vehicles around the country following community complaints that they were resulting in the "militarization" of local law enforcement.

Leesburg police acquired their tracked M113A2 about a decade ago, but took it out of service in 2013.
