Reinish

Jim Reinish, fleet manager of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, retired on May 29. He had been working at the port for 33 years, 12 of these years in fleet. A replacement has not yet been announced.

At the port, Reinish was responsible for a fleet of 2,400 vehicles, ranging from landscaping equipment to fire trucks and snow removal equipment, with a replacement value of half a billion dollars. He oversaw seven maintenance shops and managed 160 staff members.

The Port Authority is one of the Leading Fleets and has been name one of the top government green fleets in the country. Reinish was a Sustainability All-Star and served as chairman of the New York-Inter-county chapter of NAFA.

Reinish is moving to Rochester to be closer to his daughter and is interested in consulting for fleet sustainability initiatives. He can be reached at jim@reinish.net.
