Arizona's Gov. Doug Ducey is exploring a plan to reduce the number of aircraft in the state's air fleet, following his unsuccessful attempt to halt the sale of a $6-million plane to the Arizona Department of Transportation earlier this year.

A spokesman told the Arizona Capitol Times that Gov. Ducey wants to sell off some of the state's aircraft fleet of 10 planes to reduce maintenance and storage costs.

The governor hasn't ruled out selling off the new aircraft, the spokesman said.
