Vincennes University is utilizing fleet data through the FleetCommander fleet and motor pool software. This data will be used for future vehicle purchasing decisions.

Vincennes’s fleet consists of 232 vehicles ranging from buses, trucks, vans, trailers, forklifts, mowers and golf carts. There are also vehicles at the Indiana Airport.

University fleet managers can monitor their fleet and motor pool status online via a dashboard on their own fleet web site.  The FleetCommander dashboard, which updates every five minutes, enables Vincennes fleet staff to review, assign vehicles, and approve requests quickly online, while confirmation emails are sent automatically.

"As Director of Procurement, it's crucial for me to have the data I need to determine whether or not we need to replace or add more vehicles to our motor pool. With FleetCommander, I am able to clearly see what is needed based on utilization statistics. That enables us to make good procurement decisions and save the university a lot of money," says Michael Morrison, Vincennes University Director of Procurement.
