Two Michigan federal elected leaders have introduced a bill requiring federal agencies to prioritize re-manufactured parts for federal fleet vehicles.

U.S. Sen. Gary Peters (D-Mich.) and U.S. Rep. Bill Huizenga (R-Zeeland) say requiring the use of less expensive parts would save taxpayers money and support re-manufacturing suppliers in Michigan and around the country, reports MLive.com.

The Federal Vehicle Repair Cost Savings Act has cleared the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee and awaits a vote by the full Senate.
