Ford has reached a production milestone of 5 million EcoBoost engines with a Ford Focus equipped with the 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine built at the Michigan Assembly Plan in Wayne.

Ford is now producing 200,000 EcoBoost engines per month worldwide.

Other members of Ford’s global EcoBoost family include the 1.5-liter, 1.6-liter, 2.0-liter and 2.3-liter four-cylinder engines, and the powerful 2.7-liter and 3.5-liter V-6 engines. The 3.5-liter V-6 is one of three engines available in the 2015 F-150.

Ford launched its EcoBoost in 2009 on the Taurus SHO with the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6. Ford reached the milestone of 2 million EcoBoost engines in October of 2013.
