Ford is unveiling a slew of mobile apps available for its SYNC AppLink that range from minute-by-minute weather updates to safety features to discourage drivers from texting while behind the wheel.

The Life360 app is introducing a Drive Mode feature that automatically alerts the driver’s loved ones that he or she is driving to encourage them to not text them until they receive a follow-up text letting them know they are no longer driving.

Another smartphone app update is AccuWeather’s MinuteCast, which provides minute-by-minute, hyper-localized weather forecasts to a driver’s exact street address. AccuWeather for Ford SYNC AppLink helps drivers plan and time their trips based on weather conditions.

Ford also announced the Radio Disney smartphone app will be available for Ford SYNC AppLink. Families will be able to stream music for their children.

Ford is showing the new apps compatible for Ford SYNC at the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
