The Town of Thetford, Vt., lost three police vehicles in an early morning fire last month in a fire described as suspicious by the Vermont State Police investigator handling the case.
The burned-out cars were towed away from the agency, which serves 2,600 residents, following the Oct. 17 fire. The damage was estimated at $100,000, reports WPTZ.
Nearby towns are lending cars to Thetford, so the agency can provide patrol coverage.
Editor's note: An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated that Thetford was near Burlington.
