VIDEO: How to Replace Wiper Blades

Wiper blades are like home furnaces. You don’t want to wait until you really need them to find out that they don’t work properly. Regular maintenance is a must. Most automakers recommend that drivers replace windshield wiper blades two or three times a year – it’s an essential part of vehicle maintenance.

To help extend the life of wiper blades, Ford recommends cleaning the blades once a month with a clean rag and some windshield washer fluid. Additionally, during hot summer weather, it’s beneficial to activate the wipers and washer fluid at least once a week. This measure helps prevent the blades from sticking to the windshield, which can cause damage.

You may want to pass this tip along to fleet drivers as a friendly reminder.
