A $4.3-million budget surplus will allow the City of Knoxville (Tenn.) to incorporate its fleet services and operations department into a new Public Works complex.

Knoxville Mayor Madeline Rogero will outline plans for the surplus funds at a Tuesday meeting of the City Council, reports the Knoxville News Sentinel.

The surplus comes from the 2013-2014 budget year as the city's finance staff closes the books. The fiscal year ends June 30.
