The City of Montgomery, Ala., closes its city body shop and will outsource all city vehicle body work. The city already outsourced 75% of its body work, the Montgomery Advertiser reported.
The change is expected to save the city between $75,000 and $100,000 per year.
Body work and paint are the most commonly outsourced services among public sector fleets, according to Government Fleet's 2014 Annual Industry Survey. About 75% of fleets report outsourcing this work.
