General Motors has set pricing for its Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon mid-size pickup trucks that will arrive at dealer lots in the fall at $21,890 and $22,805 respectively.

The trucks represent GM's return to the mid-size pickup segment that now includes the Toyota Tacoma and Nissan Frontier.

The trucks will include a 2.5-liter direct-injected four-cylinder engine, which produces 200 hp, mated to a six-speed manual transmission. Optional engines include a 3.6-liter V-6 and 2.8-liter inline-4 Duramax turbo-diesel. A rear-view camera has been added as a standard feature.

GM will offer the Colorado LT crew cab with rear-wheel drive and a five-foot bed for a starting price of $27,985. The Colorado Z71 crew cab 4x4 with the five-foot bed starts at $34,990. Extended cab models will offer a six-foot bed. Prices include a dealer freight charge.

The GMC Canyon will be available as the SLE extended cab with rear-wheel drive starting at $27,520 or the SLT crew cab with four-wheel drive starting at $37,875.
