Westward Industries Ltd. is recalling 80 2013 model-year Go-4 vehicles because of a problem that might affect braking performance, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports.

Go-4 vehicles are commonly used in parking enforcement operations.

The recall covers vehicles manufactured from June through December of 2013. They are all equipped with 20V front calipers.

Because of a gap between the front brake caliper and the non-vented brake rotor, the brake pads may eject as they become worn. This could diminish braking performance and lengthen stopping distance, NHTSA said.

Westward dealers will replace the thin non-vented rotors with thicker vented rotors to reduce the gap between the caliper and rotor. There will be no charge for this service.

Westward can be reached at 1-204-594-4100. The company is based in Winnipeg, Canada.
