The City of Lubbock, Texas, fleet facility was evacuated on Monday after a sanitation worker suffered chemical exposure from a trash truck.

According to the Lubbock Fire Department, a city sanitation worker accessed the hopper area of the trash truck to correct a mechanical problem while parked at the fleet building. The hopper contained pesticides and herbicides. The sanitation worker experienced symptoms of chemical exposure and was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
