Ford is making the job of replacing engines a little easier with the Engine Installation Kit, an online resource that easily identifies ancillary installation part numbers by the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), according to the company.

The Engine Installation Kit site can be found on Fordparts.com.

"There are a lot of parts critical to engine replacement when you factor in all of the drive belts, filters and other smaller parts that comprise a complete engine installation. It makes sense that, if the engine is worn out, so are these ancillary parts," said Sue Castleman, powertrain product manager with Ford's Customer Service Division. "The Engine Installation Kit is the best way for installers to be reminded of all of the parts that might be associated with a certain engine type, saving time, money and freeing up garage space by getting vehicles up and running in a timely fashion."

The Engine Installation Kit was built to provide installers with an easy-to-print list of commonly replaced parts to help them avoid the pitfalls of engine replacement, mainly missing vital parts.

In addition, the parts listing within the kit simplifies the gas engine repair quoting process, as installers can quickly access all of the parts needed to give an accurate quote the first time. And as an added assurance for installers, genuine Ford remanufactured engines always include the latest engineering enhancements.
