A fire captain who crashed the Elmwood Park, N.J., borough's only ladder truck has been suspended from the department because he was under the influence.

Russell Fenn IV had a blood-alcohol level more than twice the legal limit when he crashed the truck while responding to a fire at 1 a.m. on April 16, reports NorthJersey.com.

Police charged Fenn with assault by automobile, driving while intoxicated, and reckless driving.
