Facundo Tassara, fleet operations manager for the City of Ormond Beach, Fla., has been named the new fleet maintenance manager at the City of Norfolk, Va. His first day will be April 28.

At Ormond Beach, Tassara manages a fleet of approximately 750 units with a budget of $2 million and a staff of six. The City of Norfolk’s fleet is significantly larger — more than 2,100 units with a $13.7 million budget. Norfolk’s fleet department has a staff of 48 employees.

Tassara said he’ll be exploring expanding greening efforts, right-sizing, streamlining operations, and identifying any possible efficiencies at the Norfolk fleet.

“I am very fortunate to have been given the opportunity with the City of Ormond Beach and have learned so much from my staff and others throughout the city,” he said. “Moving on to the next chapter of my career, I am very excited about this new opportunity and that I am able to grow both personally and professionally within an industry that I truly enjoy and am passionate about.”
