The Dekalb County (Ga.) Police Department has added 40 new police vehicles to its take-home vehicle program, reports WGCL-TV.

The additional take-home vehicles will allow the police department to keep vehicles longer, since they won't be running them around the clock as pool vehicles. Many of the vehicles are Chevrolet Caprice PPV sedans.

The county was able increase the take-home program due to the improved economy, DeKalb County Commissioner Sharon Barnes-Sutton told WGCL.
