Cascade County in Montana is launching a 10-year light-duty vehicle replacement program, and it's starting by replacing 20% of its light-duty fleet this year. Forty-two vehicles (20% of 210 total light-duty vehicles) have been purchased for $1.1 million, the Great Falls Tribune reported.

The new vehicles replace vehicles from the 1980s and '90s with high mileage. In future years, the county will purchase 21 vehicles per year. The new replacement program is expected to reduce breakdowns and needed maintenance.
