Elected leaders of the town of Oxford, Conn., say they'd like to shift to leasing all service vehicles or perhaps bundle the vehicles into a lease-purchase package across all departments.

Selectman Dave McKane suggested rolling service and Public Works vehicles into a bundled package, because the vehicles could serve the community for 15 to 25 years, reports Voices News.

"We have a surplus of 14 percent," Finance Director Jim Hliva told the board. "And with leasing, by spreading out the expenses over the length of the vehicle makes it so you can afford more at one time."
