The White Bluff, Tenn., Police Department has become the first law enforcement agency in the state to roll out an entire fleet of Toyota Prius cars.

The agency acquired its fifth Prius Tuesday, bringing its fleet to five, reports WTVF.

By using the hybrid vehicles, Chief Michael Holman has cut the agency's annual fuel bill to $7,000 from $30,000. Chief Holman told WTVF the Prius hybrids perform comparably to traditional police vehicles offered by Dodge, Ford, and General Motors.
