Detroit-based EcoV Electric has completed a production prototype of its EcoV low-speed electric vehicle it plans to sell in a base model for $11,999, the company announced on its website.

The company is seeking to raise $10 million in private capital in nine months so it can begin production of the car-like vehicle.

The EcoV costs 50 cents to recharge using a standard wall outlet. It has a range of 25 to 40 miles on a single charge.
