The city of Lansing, Mich., recently opened a consolidated fleet maintenance facility that cost $4.1 million and has more than 30 bays in an effort to achieve economies of scale, the Lansing State Journal reported.
The consolidated garage may allow the city to explore maintenance insourcing in addition to maintenance of its own 800-vehicle fleet. The facility houses three former city-owned garage locations.
