The City of Santa Fe, N.M., received $114,670 in grant funding from the New Mexico Environment Department to partially fund an early vehicle replacement in the City’s solid waste fleet, according to the Environment Department. The grant will allow the City to replace an older refuse truck with a new model fueled by compressed natural gas (CNG) is funded through the U.S Environmental Protection Agency Diesel Emissions Reduction Act.

Since 2008, the New Mexico Environment Department has administered grant funds for qualifying diesel emissions reduction projects within New Mexico, including projects in Albuquerque, Deming, Taos, Bloomfield, Farmington, and Las Vegas, the department stated.
