Dave Seavey, CAFM, Fleet Management Division director for the City of Seattle, has announced that he will retire from the City and will join Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) Company, a California utility, as its director of fleet operations. Seavey’s last day at the City is Sept. 20.
The position at PG&E is a new one, and Seavey will report to David Meisel, sr. director of transportation & aviation services. He will be responsible for managing a fleet of 15,000 vehicles, more than four times Seattle’s 3,431-unit fleet. PG&E is headquartered in San Francisco, Calif. Seavey plans to move to the San Francisco area toward the end of September.
Chris Wiley, CAFM, fleet operations manager, will serve as interim fleet director as of today. Wiley has worked with the City fleet for five years. He was first hired as its green fleet coordinator, where he guided the City toward earning No. 1 Government Green Fleet in North America status. Wiley was previously the executive director of a non-profit organization that promoted manufacturing efficiency and environmental performance.
