Houston Fleet Management Director Ken Hoglund is proposing integrating maintenance of the Public Works & Engineering Department vehicles into the Fleet Management Department in fiscal-year 2014. This is after the Fleet Management Department already bid on and won the contract for maintenance of Houston Airport System vehicles earlier this year, according to the Houston Chronicle.

Hoglund presented a FY-14 budget proposal to City Council that included these recommendations. FY-14 starts July 1, the newspaper states.

Hoglund’s presentation shows that the budget for FY-14 will be $72.2 million, an increase from the prior year that includes 3% pay increases for employees and the hiring of an additional 23 employee for service to the Houston Airport System’s vehicles.

Hoglund joined the Houston fleet in 2012. He previously worked as the director of fleet management for Cintas Corp.
