The Guilford County, N.C., Sheriff’s Department is handing over control of the County fleet to the Department of Social Services (DSS), but retaining management of its own 375-vehicle fleet. Fleet management of the County’s 175 vehicles will have shifted three times in the last fifteen years, according to the Rhino Times.

The County identified DSS as the largest fleet user, and the department already oversees some transportation-related services. Transportation Director Myra Thompson will now oversee the fleet.
