The Denver Police Department is taking delivery of five new Ford Police Interceptors each week out of the 49 it ordered last year, according to the Denver Post. Budget constraints have forced the PD to extend the replacement cycle of its Crown Victoria police vehicles from five years to seven; these purchases, funded by a tax increase approved by ballot measure, are the first substantial purchase of police cars since 2008.
